What Makes Eronox Different
Arian Karami carves the Oathkeeper by hand in his North Vancouver studio, from two-tone obsidian and crimson red wax that changes with the light. The piece is 23cm tall and 14cm wide, wider than anything in the Genesis Collection. The carving goes deep: weathered skin, heavy brows, a mouth that has already said everything it needed to say.
There’s no mould behind this piece and no factory. Arian carves every Eronox by hand, to order, and each one gets its own serial number. No two come out the same. The wax is a blend of 70% soy and 30% beeswax. The soy burns clean and slow, and the beeswax gives the piece its weight, its warm tone and that faint honey smell you notice before it’s ever lit. No paraffin.
The Dark Series
Eronox is part of the Dark Series, a new line that’s darker in tone and bigger in scale than Genesis. The Genesis figures carry mythology. The Dark Series faces carry something heavier, a history you’ll never fully know. Eronox is the first of them.
The black and red are layered into the wax during the pour, and Arian works the surface by hand as he carves. So the piece looks different in the morning than it does by candlelight. That’s on purpose.
How to Use It
If you’re after a dark sculptural candle in Vancouver that works as both an art object and an actual candle, this is it. Most people keep Eronox unlit, as a permanent piece. If you do light it, only the centre burns: the flame works its way down inside while the carved face stays. Once the centre has burned down, we can refill it for you as a separate service.

A note on scent: these are sculptures first. When a scented piece is lit, the fragrance stays light and never fills the room. Unscented is the default for a reason. A lot of our pieces never get burned at all.
